Schools

Since 1997, Buranda State School in Brisbane has adopted a whole-school approach that made their philosophy programme integral to its teaching and learning at the primary school level. In 2003, the school received the title of Queensland Showcase School of the Year and in 2005 the Outstanding National Improvement by a School award, demonstrating the success of a whole-school approach to P4C. In Victoria, since the 1980s, St Kilda Park Primary School and The Kind David School have offered philosophy from the first year of school. In 2002, Dandenong High School first embraced P4C and continues to be a leader for Victorian secondary schools, especially for socially disadvantaged schools practising P4C. Brunswick East Primary Schools (BEPS) began its P4C program in 2003 and has been a leader in Victorian primary schools.
